Library and Archives Canada: Consult with archivists at WPL

Thinking about doing family history or archival research, but not sure where to begin? Connect with archivists David Horky and David Cuthbert from Library and Archives Canada’s Winnipeg office at the Winnipeg Public Library. Book a 30-minute appointment to discuss your questions on how to find records and resources related to genealogy, Indigenous history, immigration, military history, railways, and much more. The archivists will also provide guidance on how to use different resources available through the LAC website. Consultations are available in English only.

Our third book is now available.  This book is 264 pages, with images. The subject matter is all the religious organizations that have been located in our area.  There is a brief history of the 3 cemeteries located in the area.

The 183 page book contains; Historic Locations, Houses, Family Stories & Local Memories.  There are 95 black/white images, 2 illustrations & just the right amount of text.  The beautiful color cover is the 'majestic' Louise Bridge photographed by Eric De Schepper.  

 

This soft cover book is selling for $20.00.

The society had 100 copies printed & to our surprise, it SOLD OUT in 5 days!  It is for sale at McNally Robinson Booksellers both locations in Grant Park Shopping Centre & at The Forks.
