Our Passion
Henderson House, built in the 1850s, was formerly located at 2112 Henderson Highway. The house was moved in 1979 to its present location at St. Norbert Provincial Heritage Park, and is now owned by the province of Manitoba.
Some of the buildings on the site are deteriorating. This is a shame, because these are fabulous examples of Red River construction, where the axe cuts cannot be duplicated.
The North East Winnipeg Historical Society Inc. (2010) considers Henderson House an endangered building, and we are trying to find a way to maintain its historic integrity.
